Urlaub in Schottland geht natürlich nicht ohne Übernachtung in Schottland. Wir bieten Ihnen für Ihre Reise ein Ferienhaus oder Cottage, Bed&Breakfast Pensionen und viele Hotels für Ihren Urlaub an. Sie können in Ihrem Urlaub entweder an einem Ort bleiben oder einer Rundreise folgen und dabei auf der Reise Strecke die Unterkunft ständig wechseln. Beide Arten des Urlaubs haben einen eigenen Reiz. Ein für längere Zeit der Reise festes Ferienhaus oder Cottage bietet mehr Erholung und Sie brauchen nicht ständig die Koffer in Ihrem Urlaub packen. Dabei erkunden Sie im Urlaub die spezielle Gegend von Schottland genauer. Bei einer Rundreise lernen Sie mehr Landschaften kennen. Natürlich können Sie auf der Reise auch beide Arten des Urlaubs kombinieren. Sollten Sie nicht mit einem Auto Ihre Rundreise fahren wollen, haben wir auch Wohnmobile und Boote.

Terms and Conditions

Normal terms and conditions of rental apply at all times. All rates include VAT & insurance and are subject to availability. An excess will be charged for any vehicle damage, however an optional excess waiver can be purchased (subject to qualification). Please visit our additional services page for more information. Insurance cover is for UK mainland only unless written consent is granted prior to rental. Rate reductions are available for renters providing their own insurance cover, contact us for more details. Rates include breakdown recovery.

Drivers

Drivers must be aged 23 years or over. Drivers aged 23-24 can hire up to a standard group car or a group B van. Drivers aged 25 or over can hire all vehicle groups. For drivers aged 23-24, a young driver supplement may be payable at certain branches. Drivers over 75 will be asked to provide medical proof that they are fit to drive. You can add additional drivers to your booking, please visit our additional services page for more information. No person other than the renter or approved additional driver(s) is permitted to drive the vehicle rented. Seatbelts must be worn at all times as required by law.

Driving Licence and Identification

To hire a vehicle, UK drivers must bring a valid driving licence (original copies only) and 2 further forms of identification, one of which must include proof of address. This can be 2 bills or 1 bill and another form of photographic identification, preferably a passport. Acceptable documents include utility bills and bank or credit card statements issued within the last 3 months. Please note that drivers with a photocard licence must bring both parts.

EU Licence holders not residing in the UK must bring a domestic driving licence and either a passport or ID card.

EU Licence holders who are residents in the UK must bring with them a domestic licence, passport or ID card and proof of UK address. This can be 2 bills or 1 bill and another form of photographic identification, preferably a passport. Acceptable documents include utility bills and bank or credit card statements issued within the last 3 months.

Drivers from outwith the EU must possess a valid domestic driving licence with English translation. If English translation is not available, an international driving permit is required in addition to a domestic driving licence. A passport must also accompany a domestic driving licence.

Additional drivers added to the booking, must also provide a valid driving licence.

Drivers must have held a full valid driving licence for a minimum of 4 years to be able to hire from us. Drivers must have a clear insurance record. Certain endorsed licences may be accepted.

Car Rental

Minimum rental period is 1 day.

Mileage allowance (cars)
1-3 Days: 250 miles per day free of charge
4 Days plus: unlimited mileage
Weekend rental (Fri 4.00pm to Mon 9.00am): 600 miles free of charge

Mileage excess

Economy & Compact groups: 4p per mile
Standard to Family Plus: 7p per mile
Estates, Executive and People Carriers (7 & 9 seats): 10p per mile

Van Rental

Minimum rental period is 4 hours subject to availability.

Group A: 10p per mile
Group B: 12p per mile
Group C: 15p per mile

Dual Control Car Rental

Renter of dual control car must be 17 years or over, possess a current provisional licence and be accompanied at all times by a qualified driver, 23 years or over, who has held a clean, current and valid UK or EU driving licence for a minimum of 3 years. Additional passengers should not be carried at any time in our dual control cars. Minimum period of rental is 1 hour and maximum is 4 hours. Dual control car rentals incur per mile fuel charge. VAT and insurance are both included in dual control car rental. An excess charge will apply in the event of vehicle damage. An optional excess waiver can be purchased (subject to qualification).
Driving Outside the UK

European rentals are restricted to cars and only by prior arrangement. Customers are responsible for travel insurance costs and European breakdown recovery for the vehicle and passengers. Additional charges will apply. For a quote please Contact Us.

Please note vans are not permitted to be taken outwith the UK mainland and while cars may be taken to Northern Ireland they should not be taken over the border to Eire.

The rules are always changing when it comes to the regulations of driving a vehicle abroad. As a UK driver you may not be fully aware of what is expected of you in other EU countries and what you need to cover off before you travel, such as mandatory EU travel kits and breathalyser kits. The AA have some great information on driving abroad and what you have to do depending on the EU country you are travelling to. Fuel

All our rental vehicles run on either unleaded or diesel fuel.  All vehicles will be supplied with a full tank of fuel. It is the customer’s responsibility to refill the vehicle at the end of the rental period. Fuel charges or fuel shortage will be charged at current pump prices plus a refilling surcharge. For 4 hour van rentals, fuel does not have to be replaced, fuel is charged at a per mileage rate depending on the size of van hired.

Payments

For advance bookings payment in full is required. For cancellations, one day's payment will be charged if less than 24 hours notice is given. Most major credit / debit cards are accepted.

Deposits

A £200 minimum deposit is required on all hires.

Branches where a deposit of up to £500 (£750 for family cars or larger and B1 vans or larger) may be requested include: Glasgow South Street, Manchester, Manchester Airport, Liverpool, Sheffield, Wolverhampton, Stafford and Kilmarnock. Deposit requirements are clearly displayed at these branches.

Full deposit requirements will be confirmed at the time of vehicle collection. Customers who book over the phone will be told what the deposit requirements are.

Daily Hire Charges

Daily rental is charged on a 24 hour basis starting from the time you collect the vehicle. Hours outwith a 24 hour period will be charged a further days hire.

Airport Security Charge

Due to increased security measures at airports a charge of £8 will be added to all reservations for our airport locations. Airport security charge will be added to your total cost at time of booking.

One-Way Car & Van Rental

One-way car & van rental is available but this will incur an additional charge. This one-way car or van rental charge will be added to your total cost at time of booking.

Rental Extensions

Subject to availability, rentals may be extended by contacting the rental office and arranging an extension during time of original rental, failure to do so will result in the vehicle being uninsured. Late payments for extensions may be subject to an administration fee.

Vehicle Availability

To avoid disappointment vehicles should be booked in advance. Models shown and all descriptions are for general guidance only and while every effort is made to comply with requirements we cannot guarantee a specific model.

Arnold Clark reserves the right to refuse rental and to amend terms and conditions without notice.
