How to get your cottage into our programme?
Thank you for your interest in our holiday cottage letting agency.
We are a privately owned German Tour Operator that specialises solely in the Scottish market. We have been in operation for over 15 years and in order to expand our self catering section further, we are looking for additional properties to be included in our CD brochure and Internet site.
Holiday cottages or complexes of self catering are represented in our CD catalogue and our large Internet site, with pictures, floor plans and lots of information. We write about the background of the house and how it is equipped. We also give information on your area of Scotland, local attractions, activities and the infrastructure of the area.
We advertise our CD catalogue through the Internet as well as in magazines, targeting people with an interest in Scotland and the English language. We also advertise in the German publications of travel information magazines and in travel guides for Scotland. We spend a lot of money on advertising and publications every year and at least £ 400 for good Internet search engine results every month.
However, our success is based on our unique advantage being the individuality and personal service we give to our clients. We keep to a high standards in all we do.
Working with us is absolutely free for you. We do not ask you for any fee to set up a catalogue or Internet entry. And we do not request exclusivity. But we would appreciate, if you do not use other German agencies.
Booking and Prices
Many of the houses have different seasonal prices and time ranges. We, however, need to standardise this into ten different seasonal times with prices. You can define these times by yourselves in the contract.
We suggest that you do not take your highest price as average for the season as we can not let self catering units, if the price is too high. (It is a competitive market.)
In the event of a cancellation we cover 40 % from day 59 to day 30 prior to the holiday and 90 % within 29 days of the booked date.
In fixing our prices, we need to be competitive, so we would recommend that your net price to us is at least 10% lower than the one that is published in other catalogues, brochures and on your own internet page. We add our fee onto the price you give us, which is the price that goes into our price list. We charge the same percentage for all houses. (If you want to compare your letting price with other properties you can check by using our sales price list and our calculation formula, which we will gladly provide.)
We only deal with pre-booked guests. Hence, when we get a booking, we phone you and ask if you have a vacancy. Once you have agreed you will get a confirmation of the booking.
As we have strict travel operator laws in Germany, we cannot collect the full rent more than four weeks prior to the booked date. We send you the full rent (in Pound Sterling) by cheque from the Bank of Scotland (or a money transfer) about two weeks prior to the start of the booked holiday.
If you are interested please send us information about your accommodation including photos of the interior, exterior and the surroundings. We look forward to hearing from you.
What do we need?
- take picture of the house
- take pictures of the interior of the house including inside rooms
- take pictures of the surrounding of the house and the landscape
Please send digital photos via email. Catalogue printing needs photos of more than 1,6 Megapixels (1000 x 1600 pixels). Many internet pictures are much less than this and not suitable for catalogue printing. We want to show your accommodation as best as possible, therefore please send photos of more than 1000 x 1600 pixels. Nevertheless we can deal with good paper prints or slides (transparencies). Paper print size should be at least 3 inches by 4 inches.
Floor plan for self catering
Please send a floor plan (e.g. draft by hand) with the approx. measurements of rooms and positions of furniture. We will redraw it to get it standardized. Feel free to use inches, feet, yards, we can convert it metric.
Contract and Questionnaire
Fill in the contract and questionnaire and sign it. Availlable below for download.
Location of your accommodation
Add driving instructions on how to get to your accommodation. Send the GPS position, if known. Send us a copy of a map showing the way to your accommodation.
